Quick Thoughts: Attack on Titan Season 3

It isn’t hard to see that Attack on Titan paved the way for modern anime fans, especially when it first came out. The central theme of living in fear of the Titans but wanting to break free from this oppression has hooked in many viewers.

However, it took the series 4 long years in order to come out with another season. Thankfully, it only took the third season a year to come out after the second. It has been announced that Attack on Titan Season 3 will be having a 24-episode season and is scheduled to premiere this summer, July 22 to be exact. We also get this fully subbed trailer, thanks to Funimation!

Some Takeaways From the Trailer:

  • Kenny looks.. younger? His voice acting is on point though (sounds like Jiraiya from Naruto)
  • There is a change in animation style and it looks more fluid, especially when we see Levi using his 3D Maneuver Gear in the city. The question is, will it stay the same for the rest of the anime or is this quality of animation only for the trailer?
  • Hiroyuki Sawano never fails to make OSTs that get you hyped!!!

Quick Thoughts:

To be honest, I am very hyped but also can’t help but feel a little skeptical about this third season. I kept up with the manga and this arc felt like it dragged. But then again, we only got one chapter a month for a whole year so that mostly factors into it. I won’t be posting any spoilers but all I can say is, this season will wither out the weak. It gets very political and in addition to that, there will be a lack of fights between Titans.

If you choose to stay, I can assure you that you will be REWARDED as the next arc gets very intense.

This is a very short post as I only wanted to share my hype for the next season of Attack on Titan and I am looking forward to how they execute this upcoming season!

You can watch the first two seasons of Attack on Titan on Crunchyroll ,Funimation, or Netflix

Thank you for reading as always!

  1. I’ve managed to dodge all spoilers for what’s coming up, but it looks to me like the next season would focus more on characters’ relationships with each other and their development than fighting titans. If that’s true, I think it’s going in a great direction! I felt like what dragged the show the most in previous seasons were the battles.

    1. yes, that’s exactly what’s gonna happen! They even said it in the trailer where it’s not Titans they are up against, but humans. It’s a complete change of environment but the tension still stays the same, look forward to it!
