Christmas time is here! I hope everyone had a Thanksgiving as well, but now that we are finally going into December, it is time once again for Toradora December!!
For those of you who don’t know, Toradora December is my annual Toradora rewatch. You watch one episode of Toradora a day leading up to Christmas Day.
I have put a couple of people on to this yearly tradition since we all share the love for the series and I have also put on people who haven’t watched the show as well. It’s really fun since you only need to watch an episode a day. It might be hard for some since they might get the urge to just binge it and some even fall behind, but watch at your own pace really!
For a little background on this yearly tradition, I started doing my annual Toradora rewatch during December in 2012, so yeah it’s been 6 years already. Time went by so fast.. Without me knowing at the time, (I didn’t even know Reddit existed until 2015 if we’re being honest) /r/anime also started doing a Toradora Rewatch for the first on the same year but with a minor difference: /r/anime start their rewatch on December 5 so the Christmas episode lands directly on Christmas Day. At the end of the day, we are watching the same anime and we are doing it for our love for it.
Why do you watch Toradora annually?
– I am really attached to this series and it holds a very special place in my heart. It was the first anime that introduced me to rom-com slice of life when I first watched it in 2009 and it greatly influenced my taste in anime along with Haruhi Suzumiya. What I liked the most from this show was how it started off lighthearted and hilarious but then transitioned into something more serious as the series came to a conclusion. I also kind of relate to the show to a certain extent. It reminds me of a time when I was young and naive when it comes to life problems.
So will you be participating in Toradora December? If you are, then hop on the train! I like seeing people participate since it was something I came up with and a lot of people have been doing it over the years as well. Freely use #ToradoraDecember on Twitter to keep up with everyone participating!
This was a short post, I haven’t been blogging since I don’t even have time to watch anime nowadays. *Sigh* but I do miss it though and I miss the aniblogging community as well.
I hope you guys have a wonderful holiday season!
